From sun-kissed sands and beaches along the Atlantic to the misty mountains of the Blue Ridge and Great Smoky Mountains, there's a wide range of landscapes outdoor activities, and glamping tents to enjoy. And the best part is that the Southeast is considered relatively warmer, making it a nice escape to nature even during winter.
So whether you crave a cozy and secluded A-frame cabin nestled along the Chattahoochee or a luxe glamping tent closer to the hustle-bustle of Raleigh's city life, we've gathered a list of our favorite southeast glamping destinations
Now, let's explore some of the best glamping spots in the Southeast!
Before we dive in, it's worth noting that there's no official definition for the southeast region. According to the U.S. Geological Survey (USGS), the seven states most definitely considered to be the Southeast are:
So that is where we started. Then, we sought out glamping spots that offered multiple accommodations, making it a true destination for a large group or a getaway from a wedding or family reunion. We also narrowed this list by seeking smaller or local family-run glamping retreats!
There are many more glamping places in the Southeast to explore, and we highly recommend you peruse sites like Airbnb or HipCamp for yourself – but these are some of our favorites!
Starlight Haven at Weiss Lake in Cedar Bluff, Alabama, offers an upscale glamping experience along 1,500 feet of private lakefront shoreline. Nestled in nature yet packed with modern comforts, this retreat features geodesic domes, bachuma safari tents, and cozy A-frame cabins, making it a perfect escape for adventure seekers and relaxation lovers alike.
Communal Areas + Activities Starlight Haven offers lots of communal areas and activities to enjoy. Relax by one of their creekside firepits or soak and unwind in a private hot tub after a long day of hiking and waterfall gazing within North Alabama's scenic Little River Canyon, DeSoto State Park, and Lookout Mountain. Situated on a lake, you have all the usual watersports, including kayaking, paddleboarding, and fishing (Weiss Lake isn't called the "Crappie Capital of the World" for nothing!)

Experience the old West in the Southeast at Westgate River Ranch. This Florida Dude Ranch retreat is known for its Saturday Night Rodeos and is a super family-friendly glamping spot that all will enjoy. Accommodations like Conestoga wagons, colorful teepees, luxe safari tents and even traditional camping sites for RVs and tent campers have something for all budgets. And while some retreats look high-end, the overall vibe is chill and laid back.
Communal Areas + Activities
Although it's a Dude Ranch, you certainly will not be "roughin' it." And with countless activities available to guests, you'll never be bored! Horseback riding, airboat rides, mini gold, trap and skeet shooting, fishing, and a petting zoo for the kiddos — honestly, there are too many to list! Check out the activities page for yourself. Still, a unique and special adult treat has to be the S'mores and Pours Package, which includes a bourbon flight and s'more makings. Roasting marshmallows as you sip bourbon by the fire? Yes, please.
Glamp Blue Ridge features seven geodesic dome glamping accommodations in Georgia. Located 100 feet from Fall Branch Falls, each dome offers creature comforts and stylish modern decor. Each dome has a gorgeous ensuite bathroom, a panoramic window/moonroof view overlooking the waterfall, and a spacious deck with a firepit, Blackstone grill and discreet private hot tub.
Communal Areas + Activities
Glamp Blue Ridge offers two communal areas: Tree Weave, a two-story rope playspace, and a community fire pit. You can also take a 20-minute jaunt into downtown Blue Ridge to grab a bite or wander into shops. And, obviously located near the Blue Ridge mountains, outdoor activities abound! Hiking in the Chattahoochee National Forest and the Benton Mackaye Trail.
A 35-minute skip from Raleigh, NC, is Sugarneck Glamping Resort, offering a beautiful 400 acres with five luxury glamping tents and one cabin. Tucked back into the Blackwater Edisto River is Edisto River Refuge, a private wildlife retreat of three treehouses accessible only by canoe. Canoe trips are run and guided by Canoe Heritage Outfitters, allowing guests to stop at the halfway point and sleep overnight in a treehouse. A 13-mile canoe journey brings you to an island-like peninsula surrounded by cypress trees. While these three treehouses lean more into rustic-style glamping, and you must pack and transport your gear and food, it's a special experience for campers who love paddling into remote sites. Choose between a small, medium, and large treehouse constructed from natural and local materials and with amazing river views.
Communal Areas + Activities
Guests have the option of staying for additional overnights, but you need to be self-sufficient, cook your own meals, and entertain yourself with dominoes and playing cards. In short, These off-grid treehouses are more about privacy and connecting to nature. Let the frogs lull you to sleep in the hammock or simply take in the beauty of an undeveloped wilderness.
Grandview Camp at Lemon Lane Farm was built around and inspired by a former guest of the original glamping site Cowgirl Cabin – when the farm went up for sale, the new owner jumped at the opportunity! Today, this Tennessee glamping destination offers a wide range of accommodations to pick from: vintage canned ham campers, Winnebagos, A-frames and tiny house cabins, and even a 40-foot Skoolie bus!
Communal Areas + Activities
During evenings, experience the farm's wood-fired sauna or hot tub. The wood-fired hot tub can be specially reserved and delivered by truck straight to your site! During the day, hang out around the farm, petting friendly farm animals of Flying Pigs Sanctuary, playing yard games, or enjoying wellness services like massages and yoga sessions.
Outside the Grandview Camp are lots of activities for the perfect day out. You have watersports like kayaking and whitewater rafting down the Ocoee River. There are also nearby amusement parks like Dollywood and Lake Winnie for more family-friendly thrills.
