Each bag is made from a tough canvas and are individually stitched in their shop, one at a time.

What materials are these canvas bags made from?

Beckel bags are made from high-quality, durable cotton canvas sourced from American suppliers. The colored canvas bags are made with 18oz canvas, while the natural colored canvas is made with 20oz canvas.

Are these bags waterproof? 

These canvas bags are water-resistant - not waterproof. But the canvas was treated to withstand exposure to water.

Are your bags machine-washable?

These bags are not meant to be washed in a machine.  You should only spot clean them because of the leather accents and colorfastness.

How strong are the handles?

Our handles are reinforced for durability and can easily carry heavy loads because of how they are stitched in the our Oregon shop.

Are Beckel bags made in the USA?

YES they are!  Beckel is a boutique shop and make small batches of their canvas duffel bags.
