SIMPLY THE BEST TENT CANVAS

There are many details that are important when building the best canvas tent.  The most important detail that we decided to upgrade from the our first production was the canvas tent fabric. We wanted to ensure our canvas was more durable, aesthetically pleasing and longer lasting than any other canvas tent on the market.

Our high-quality Life Intents DoekTecTM canvas contains a proprietary combination of the following fantastic attributes which took several years to perfect:

CANVAS WEIGHT

Our canvas is thick.  Actually, the thickest you will find on the market.  We selected a canvas weight of 11.5 ounces per square yard, aka 390 GSM (grams per square meter)! This upgrade makes the tent stronger and provides greater insulation properties.

Think about it - on hold days, do you opt for a thin socks or thicker ones?!

MILDEW RESISTANT CANVAS

Almost anything left outside in a damp environment is susceptible to mildew and mold growing on it.  A camping tent is no exception. However, our canvas comes with extra defense to help discourage mold from growing in the first place. In fact, we are the first company to publish the results from an independent lab showing the powerful anti-fungal resistance of our canvas.

Even with this heightened mold resistance, there are many steps one should take to discourage having your tent become a host for mold spores - as these treatments won't last - but they will make your job a bit easier!

WATERPROOF CANVAS

Canvas tent fibers will swell and tighten to create a fairly water-resistant material.  However without treating the canvas tents with a waterproofing solution, water will seep into your tent.  Our cotton canvas fibers have been impregnated with a waterproofing agent helps water to bead up and roll off of our tents - keeping the inside dry.  A canvas waterproofing retreatment  will be required after extended use (as with any canvas tent).

CANVAS COLOR

Most bell tents are a drab beige.  No offense to that color choice - but we wanted our tents to be more aesthetically pleasing.  Therefore we selected a dye-free 100% cotton canvas which is beautiful cream white color. The lighter color also helps our tents to reflect more sun rays during hot days.

FLAME RETARDANT CANVAS

Our canvas has been also been treated for flame retardancy - making them safer to use a wood stove or other heating elements inside.  We also provide CPAI-84 certification inside of your tent user manual.

The above elements give our tents a great advantage - but please remember that all canvas tents do require an owner to monitor and maintain their tents regularly - and to quickly address any problems that may be arise during use.

Want a fabric sample? Just email or call and we will ship you a swatch of our canvas so you can see and feel for yourself!
